Family Camping with Cub Scout Pack 66
Join other Pack 66 families in an overnight camping trip at Afton State Park!
We have reserved a group campsite, which can accommodate up to 50 people. Afton State park offers swimming, hiking, fishing, and geocaching. They do not have showers at Afton, but it's only one night, right? This is not an official scouting event (yet), and is not a replacement for Camp Akela, but simply a chance for the scouts to camp together along with their families.

There wasn't much snow on the ground, but we still had fun on a sunny winter day at Polar Camp. What better way to spend Valentines Day?

2009 Raingutter Regatta
| From Raingutter Regatta 2009 |
Last Saturday was our annual Raingutter Regatta, where the boys build sailboats and race each other, either by blowing or fanning, down the length of a water-filled raingutter.
Sailing is a tricky business, but everyone had fun. There were some very close races, and interesting fanning techniques that may be studied by future generations of scouts. Congrats to the winners in each den and for the overall pack!

Archery Day 2009
Last Saturday (Jan 10), the North Star District (serving St. Paul) sponsored the annual Archery Day. The boys all learned how to safely shoot a bow & arrow at targets (or occasionally the wall *behind* the target), and earned the Archery belt loop if they hadn't already done so.

We had a great Pack Meeting last night (Dec. 15), with lots of food, entertainment, and awards for the boys. We even had a special visitor who dropped by with candy.
Many thanks to everyone for making this meeting such a success. Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, and we'll see you at our next regular den meeting on January 5th!

Polar Camp 2009
Polar Camp for 2009 will be on Saturday, February 14. (This is a change from our original planned date of the 21st, since that date has already filled up.)
Many parents have signed up already, and others are encouraged to sign up at the Pack Meeting on Dec. 15th. The cost is $27 per boy, and $9 per adult. Payment can be included with the signup, or the amount can be deducted from your child's scout account. We will then take these signups and reserve a spot for Pack 66.
More information about Polar Camp can be found at http://northernstarbsa.org/Camping/CubScout/Winter/.
