Family Camping with Cub Scout Pack 66

Join other Pack 66 families in an overnight camping trip at Afton State Park!
We have reserved a group campsite, which can accommodate up to 50 people. Afton State park offers swimming, hiking, fishing, and geocaching. They do not have showers at Afton, but it's only one night, right?
This is not an official scouting event (yet), and is not a replacement for Camp Akela, but simply a chance for the scouts to camp together along with their families.

More info on the park can be found here: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/afton/index.html

Who: Families of cub scouts in Pack 66. Each scout must be accompanied by an adult from their own family.

When: August 7-8 (single overnight). Arrive anytime after 4pm on Friday, Aug. 7, and stay until 3pm on Saturday, Aug. 8. You're welcome to stay in the park after that time, but we need to vacate our group campsite by 3pm.

Where: Afton State Park is near Hastings, MN - about 45 minutes from St. Paul. We will be in Group Site #2.
Directions: From St. Paul, go 9 miles east on I-94, then 7 miles south on Highway 95 and 3 miles east on County Road 20.
Click here for a map from St. Bernards to Afton State Park.

Costs: $10 per family for the site + firewood.
$5 per car (unless you already have a MN State Park sticker) (pay when you enter the park)

What to bring:
Food: Each family should plan on bringing their own food & drinks. If you'd prefer to coordinate meals with others, let me know and we'll try to arrange something. Also, if you would like to borrow the use of a cookstove, we can arrange that, as well.

Equipment: You'll need to bring your own tent, sleeping bags, flashlights, and other gear.

Please RSVP, so we have some idea of how many people to expect!
