Summer events
Here's some info on upcoming events so you can put them on your calendar:
Monday, May 26 : NO Den Meeting (Memorial Day)
June 14: Our end-of-year Pack meeting!
Where: Marydale Park (corner of Dale & Maryland)
Time: 11am-2pm (we'll start setting up at 10am)
What's happening? award ceremony, lunch (provided by the pack), games, and a super-awesome skit by the Webelos
June 21-22: Cub Scout Family camping -
We'll find a group campsite and cook our own meals, go on hikes, etc.
Where: To be determined - I will email more information when we find a location
July 24: Rice St. Parade
We will walk in the parade again this year. We're looking into putting together a small "scouting" trailer/float. This is a great opportunity for exposure
August 8-10: Cub Scout Summer Camp at Akela
Please let me (or your den leader) know ASAP if your son will be attending! Remember: Pack 66 is paying $50 for each boy to attend, so your cost is only $55. Camperships are also available, which will cover the other half of the cost (form is attached to this email). We also need parents to attend Camp Akela!
August 13-16 (tentative): Webelos Camp Navajo
Current Webelos 1 scouts can camp in the Tomahawk Scout Reservation as part of the Navajo camp program, specially geared toward Webelos. This is a great opportunity for learning skills that will transition the boys to being Boy Scouts. Pack 66 will also pay about half the cost for each boy, so your cost will only be $55. We need parents to attend Camp Navajo, also!
Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas for other summertime activities. Let's make the most of our short-but-sweet Minnesota Summer!
